Permit Test Information

  • You must have taken 30 hours of classroom instruction to qualify to take the permit test.

    You must register on-line to take your permit test. Test can be taken online or in-person. Permit testing is not offered at Chisago Lakes High School.

Pass Permit Test

  • Congrats! You are one step further to receiving your license.

    If you have taken the 30 hours of classroom and you passed your permit test, continue to the Chisago Lakes License Bureau to receive your permit. Please bring your reciept of passing, money to purchase permit, parent, 2 forms of ID and your social security number.

Blue Card

  • You will be issued a blue card from the instructor to take the written permit test if you are 15 years of age. If you are under the age of 15 at the completion of the course, you will need to pick up your blue card after your 15th birthday from the Community Education office. 

    Permit tests are administered online or on-site. Permit tests are no longer offered at Chisago Lakes High School. Click here to register for permit tests.

Required Materials To Take Permit Test

    1. Certified Copy of Birth Certificate from County (Not hospital copy with footprints)
    2. Social Security Card or Current Student ID Card
    3. Blue Card
    4. Parent or Legal Guardian
