Permit Test Information
You must have taken 30 hours of classroom instruction to qualify to take the permit test. Permit tests are administered by the Chisago Lakes High School the following Tuesday after the completion of their 30 hours.
If you have 1. Failed the test, 2. Were not able to attend the testing in the classroom, or 3. Not old enough for the permit test in the classroom, see "Blue Card" below.
Pass Permit Test
Congrats! You are one step further to receiving your license.
If you have taken the 30 hours of classroom and you passed your permit test, continue to the Chisago Lakes License Bureau to receive your permit. Please bring your reciept of passing, money to purchase permit, parent, 2 forms of ID and your social security number.
You will be issued a blue card from the instructor to take the written permit test if you have 1. Failed the test, 2. Were not able to attend the testing in the classroom or 3. Not old enough for the permit test in the classroom.
Permit tests are administered biweekly on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at the Lindstrom City Hall (13292 Sylvan Avenue, Lindstrom) from 10 - 11:15 am, no appointment necessary. Please bring the required materials as stated.

Required Materials To Take Permit Test
- Certified Copy of Birth Certificate from County (Not hospital copy with footprints)
- Social Security Card or Current Student ID Card
- Blue Card (Disregard if taking the test in the classroom)
- Parent or Legal Guardian
