Permit Test Information

You must have taken 30 hours of classroom instruction to qualify to take the permit test.
Permit test is offered the Tuesday after the 30 Hour Driver's Education class. This is offered at the High School and only available to those who took the 30 Hour Driver's Education Class through Chisago Lakes Community Education.
Or you may make an appoitnment online for an in-person permit test at www.dps.mn.gov.

Congrats! You are one step further to receiving your license.
If you have taken the 30 hours of classroom and you passed your permit test, continue to the Chisago Lakes License Bureau to receive your permit. Please bring your reciept of passing, money to purchase permit, parent, 2 forms of ID and your social security number.
Required Materials To Take Permit Test

- Certified Copy of Birth Certificate from County (Not hospital copy with footprints)
- Social Security Card or Current Student ID Card
- Blue Card
- Parent or Legal Guardian
