In accordance with state law, Chisago Lakes School District is required to ensure that all school-age children living within the district's boundaries are being educated. The district's primary role is to be certain that all Homeschools comply with state law and to provide the necessary information and forms for each Homeschool to remain in compliance. Current Homeschool families in ISD #2144 will receive a letter in the fall from the district that will direct them to this website for sample forms requesting the information to be submitted for the 2021-2022 school year.
For families looking at their options with the COVID-19 pandemic, here is a guide that tells you the difference between Home School and Distance Learning.
The following information must be submitted before the specified deadlines. If complete information (immunizations, parent degrees/certification, school calendar days, and norm-referenced testing information if required) is not received, the district must report the Homeschool as "Not Compliant" in our report to the State of Minnesota in November.
Student Report for Aids Forms must be received by the District Office by October 1, 2021. To be eligible your students must be enrolled with the Chisago Lakes School District as a homeschool family on or before September 15, 2021. Receipts need to be turned in to the District Office by June 30, 2022, in order to get reimbursement for items purchased during the fiscal year from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022.
