Financial Facts - Budget Update
Chisago Lakes School District expenses are currently outpacing income. Current analysis of our 2018-19 budget discovered expenses exceeding money coming in by $1.6 million. School districts utilize a savings account to account for unknown costs. The board has a goal to put $400,000 into that account for this year, working toward a savings goal. CL School Board directed the administration to reduce expenses by a $2 million dollar target between now and June 2020 ($1.6 million + $400,000 savings).
